CLIA Lab

The University of Chicago Clinical Pharmacogenomics Laboratory is a newly established laboratory within the Pathology Department. The laboratory works with the CPT to prepare and analyze the blood specimens for the 1200 Patients Project. The laboratory is both CLIA and CAP certified and uses some of the most advanced genotyping techniques currently available such as Life Technologies QuantStudio platform using custom arrays and Hologic’s Invader technology. The CPT and the CLIA lab have worked together to develop an extensive DNA panel to analyze hundreds of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), including SNPs for such genes as: CYP2D6, TPMT, CYP2C19, NAT2.
